The person behind Spark•Academy

Paul Tocatlian founded Spark•Academy as a home for focused learning experiences built around real work. The academy brings together courses, mentoring, and workshops for people who want to understand an idea, try it with guidance, create something useful, and keep improving after the session ends.
Paul works across two distinct practice areas. He mentors software engineering professionals who are developing their leadership and management skills. He also leads fashion editorial photography education through Spark•Academy and his work with Kisau Photography.

Paul works with senior engineers, tech leads, engineering managers, technical product managers, program managers, and teams. The mentoring focuses on the people, delivery, communication, decision-making, organizational change, and technology adoption challenges that show up in real software organizations.
The goal is not to move through a generic curriculum. It is to connect relevant frameworks and experience to the situation the participant needs to navigate now.

Fashion editorial photography
Creative education that treats the whole editorial process as the work.
Paul also leads fashion editorial photography learning through Spark•Academy and Kisau Photography. The workshop follows the process from concept and pre-shot planning through respectful model direction, live shooting, editing, sequencing, credits, and publishing.
The purpose is not only to make individual images. It is to help photographers develop a clearer voice and a repeatable process for shaping an intentional editorial story.
